This amazing anime series was broadcasted on Japanese channels TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, and AT-X from April 4, 2016, to September 19, 2016. And also Crunchyroll simulcasted it at the same time. Tappei Nagatsuki’s light novel series was the inspiration and story base for this anime.
What Happened in Re: Zero Season 1?
When Subaru came out of a convenience store, he found himself in a mysterious place. There, Emilia saved him from an attack. They went on a mission to find Emilia’s stolen insignia and were cruelly killed.
Then resurrected into life unknowing of his ability of ‘Return by Death’, Subaru found himself with the vendor he was talking to before his death. He kept going back to the previous time to get hold of things in different ways.
With the help of Reinhard, Emilia defeated Elsa and got back her insignia. Subaru found himself safe and sound in his room and realized Emilia saved him again. Rem attacked and tortured him suspecting that he was plotting against Emilia.
The Mabeast was defeated by Subaru but he again died to save Rem. Rem fell in love with him after a while of this incident. Emilia wanted to be the next monarch of the castle, so she became a candidate in that royal election.
As Emilia wasn’t aware of Subaru’s power, she misunderstood his love for her and ended their friendship. Rem died to save everyone else and the memory of her was lost while only Subaru remembered her.
He and Julius fought hand in hand and killed Petelgeuse by using Julius’s spirit La and writing “the end” on the Gospel Book. At last, he succeeded to save Emilia’s life making her grateful to him, and also confessed his feelings for her.

What Is The Release Date Of Re: Zero Season 2?
Re: Zero Season 2 is divided into two courses, on July 8, 2020, the first half aired while the second half aired on January 6, 2021. “Realize” by Konomi Suzuki and “Long Shot” by Mayu Maeshima were the opening theme songs of season 2. The ending theme songs were “Memento” and “Believe in you” by nonoc.
What Happened In Re: Zero Season 2?
In this season, Subaru met Echidna who was the “Witch of Greed”. With the intention of entering the Sanctuary, Subaru and Emilia took the trial and after collapsing inside, he found himself back in Japan. Then after making up with his father, he went back to the mysterious world.
This season was more about Emilia passing all three trials to enter the Sanctuary and their fight against the Great Rabbit. Subaru finally became Emilia’s Knight and she reconciled with him at last.
Will There be Re: Zero Season 3?
There isn’t any official declaration about the release date of Re: Zero Season 3. But as the manga is still ongoing we can certainly hope for a further season. And when the next season comes, Kakegurui Season 3 will be released as well.

The first two seasons only covered up to “Arc 4”, so there’s a possibility that the next season will start at “Arc 5”. Where the attempts of Emilia and Subaru to free the inhabitants of the Sanctuary will take place.
Subaru’s fight to defeat the Witch Cultists by reuniting the Royal Election Camps is also likely to happen.
